About Us:
Established in December 2008, Canolfan Maerdy is located in the village of Tairgwaith in the Upper Amman Valley of South West Wales situated half way between Ammanford and Pontardawe.
The Company, (a registered charity), and limited by guarantee, is a community enterprise, non profit making organisation that provides adult education training courses, childcare, employment services and many other facilities to communities within the counties of Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire.
Though the company, Canolfan Maerdy, is still of tender years, it boasts a Board of Directors/Trustees with an immense wealth of business and community experience and, of paramount importance, sharing the common vision of making a real difference in their community.

We would like to acknowledge with grateful thanks the award of a Neath Port Talbot Borough Council Community Regeneration Fund with which we have been able to safeguard the jobs of a total of 11 people, and are thus able to continue and expand on the Adult Education Training, Childcare, Room Rental and many other much needed services that we offer to the community.
As our premises are situated on common land, Canolfan Maerdy are also very appreciative of the great support it receives from The Commoners Association in the continuation of all our activities.
