Employment Support Worker
An unexpected vacancy has arisen for an Employment Support Worker to cover both the Tairgwaith and Ystalyfera areas which means the postholder will be based in Tairgwaith for 3 days of the week and two days in Ysytalyfera.
This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, at a salary of £21,500 p.a. The job entails managing and operating an established One Stop Shop’ to provide guidance, support and information to help unemployed individuals overcome personal barriers and encourage progression.
This post is central to improving employability and employment in the area and represents a dynamic interface between Canolfan Maerdy, employers and the community.
This vital Employment Support Service is presently funded by the Flexible Support Fund until the end of March 2012 but we are confident that our negotiations for further funding to continue this invaluable service will be successful.

Nursery Assistants
Although we do not have an immediate vacancy for a permanent full-time Nursery Assistant, we are
seeking to build up a pool of names whereby, when the need arises, we have experienced people whom we can call upon to maintain our ratios during periods of sickness, holidays etc.
However, as the numbers of children in our creche are steadily rising, it is not inconceivable that in the very near future we shall be needing to appoint a Nursery Assistant on a permanent basis.

All potential applicants must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3, have a current CRB Disclosure and appropriate Certificate in First Aid for Infants.
